Designing and Implementing MSME’s and Startups Support Program
Project Overview:
Salem Group undertook the design and implementation of Jafra’s Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and Startups Support Program. This initiative aimed to support 80 existing MSMEs and startups, offering assistance to households affected by the crisis in Chatila and Burj Al Barajneh Camps, with funding from Welthungerhilfe.
Scope of Work:
Project Design:
– Collaborated with Jafra’s Team and WHH program manager to design the project work plan and strategy.
– Developed comprehensive project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for monitoring throughout the project’s implementation timeline.
– Created outreach criteria and conducted a three-day training on application filling, which was shared with area coordinators.
– Designed a 3-month MSMEs training curriculum covering essential topics such as Marketing, Sales, Accounting, Planning, and Crisis Management.
– Drafted Pre & Post Assessment forms to monitor participants’ needs before joining the program and their progress after graduation.
Project Implementation:
– Developed a grading matrix to assess and screen applications during interviews.
– Conducted training and coaching sessions in person at both Burj Al Barajneh and Chatila camps.
– Implemented the project in three cycles, ensuring dedicated attention to each participant.
– Maintained communication and synchronization among all project stakeholders through weekly emails, monthly reports, and bi-weekly meetings.
– After each cycle, trainers provided a final report on grant budgets for each participant and supported the procurement department in filing RFQs and ToRs.
Project Reporting:
– After the completion of each cycle, recommendations and key points for improvement were delivered to ensure more efficient project implementation and minimize performance gaps in the subsequent cycles.
